Throwing up the “peace sign” in your photos and when you take selfies has become a normalized part of the picture taking process for mout of us. However, that could start to change because a study has surfaced saying it’s now possible to lift your fingerprints from photos if the shot is close enough — at least nine feet away to be exact.

Researchers at Japan’s National Institute of Informatics gave examples, noting that in 2014 hackers were able to lift fingerprints from Germany’s defense minister and unlock her phone strictly from using photos of her hands. Isao Echizen– a researcher from NII said in another interview that if you have a picture with strong enough lighting in it, that a person’s fingerprint data can be recreated. Do you think this will stop people from using their fingerprints as passwords or throwing up peace signs in selfies?

We had a discussion about that. About the obsession with selfies, as it relates to the eye in the sky and facial recognition and “panopticon”.its freaky to think people are saving our images.
What is even scarier is the fact that soon they plan for us to not be able to use cash at a lot of locations, so therefore everything we possess monetarily will be coded on a chip, or fingerprint. So think about it, if they can now steal your identity this easily, don’t you think that it’s time you get some protection. What would you do if you woke up tomorrow and all of your accounts were depleted, your family couldn’t eat, you couldn’t pay your bills, you couldn’t fund your dreams, or your credit score was damaged from someone stealing your identity?
